Mysterious espionage adventure
Who says games need hours of content to be good? Gravity Bone, a short indie game, clocks in at much less than an hour, but we guarantee it'll be not much time well spent.
Based on the old Quake engine, which won't trouble your PC too much, it's a two episode 3D puzzle platform game. For anyone used to FPS games, the control will come naturally, but the game introduces the control system gradually through helpfully placed signs in the environment. It's really well done, and doesn't feel stupid.
It's difficult to explain the story without giving too much away, but evidently you play some kind of agent, in a Mission Impossible style, and are in a place called Nuevos Aires. Visually, it's basic but striking, with block headed characters and a kind of 50s feel. The environments have clearly had a lot of work put into them, and are very atmospheric. The sound effects are really effective, and the music fits perfectly with the action. You don't have a gun, but will have a few items to use during the game.
Gravity Bone is the best example of the recent trend for video games as art, as it's actually fun to play while making you think in the way art sometimes does. But don't let the 'art' tag put you off! It has explosions, guns and blood too!
Gravity bone is humorous, thought provoking and really entertaining. You'll enjoy every one of the not many minutes it takes to complete!
